joy division//sordide sentimentale
my vinyl wet dream. sordide sentimentale.
only 1578 were pressed to be sold only in france. a 7" single with atmosphere and dead souls, but a 3 page sleeve with artwork by jean-francois jamoul and writting by jean-pierre turmel as well as one of the most famous joy division photos. most of the pressing was sent just as the paper sleeve and record, later copies were sent in a plastic sandwich bag. the original record is completely indistinguishable and plain from the outside, and still are now being sold in excess of 600GPB.

the durutti column//sketch for dawn//never known
some durutti column for a rainy night in manchester.
favourite book//days between stations
i just finished this and i'm still extremely confused, and extremely in love. there is no way to explain what happens, or why it happens. and you could easily go insane trying. but maybe that would ruin it? i blame school for this need to over analyse and find meaning in everything, sometimes just being able to enjoy is enough. ericksons writing is a love and hate situation, i believe in grey areas but not in regards to this. ive read reviews and talked to people who read the first 20 pages and never picked up his work again. and sometimes when mid thought the story disintegrates and moves to another demension/time/location the urge will strike you to throw the book away and never think of it again. but don't. it's such a sense of achievement when you finish and still manage to have your sanity intact.

joy division//manchester
in manchester, so a joy division post is required. its a bit eerie listening to this stuff here, im reading 'touching from a distance' at the moment and the whole thing is desperately sad. i have to debate at times whether or not i want to pick it up and keep reading. on the up side JD vinyl is cheap and everywhere, and manchester is the best (and seediest) city ive been to so far. interesting people and so much good music its insane. couldn't decided between these two perfectly imperfect songs, so you got both.
